During the Prayer and Prophecy Tour of Israel this past summer, we made the time one evening to go to the Shepherd’s Fields outside of Bethlehem. So, with the Shepherd’s Fields as a backdrop, and the town of Bethlehem in the distance, in the place of the very first Christmas, I read the following portion from God’s Story to those gathered on the hillside…
My prayer for you this Christmas is that your heart would be filled with such joy that you too couldn’t help but publicly praise God for who He is and what He has done. Christmas is a celebration of the fact that the Creator came down to be our Savior . . . that Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah, the One who redeems and reconciles the world to Himself. And after He died on the cross to take away our sin, He rose up from the dead to be our Living Lord, ascended into heaven to open it for you and me. And one day He’s coming back to rule and reign on this earth as King of kings and Lord of lords.
Go and tell!
