November 9

Morning

I have given help to one who is mighty;
I have exalted one chosen from the people.

I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no savior. § There is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. § There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Mighty God. § Made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name. § We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. § Inasmuch … as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same.

Ps. 89:19; Isa. 43:11; 1 Tim. 2:5; Acts 4:12;
Isa. 9:6; Phil. 2:7–9; Heb. 2:9; 2:14

Evening

Gather My saints together to Me,
those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.

Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, … that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am. § Then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven. § If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you.

The dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
