June 28

Morning

I know that my Redeemer lives.

If when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. § But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Because I live, you will live also. § If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

“The Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” says the Lord. § We have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. § You were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

Evening

The Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will
depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits.

Therefore take heed how you hear. § Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. § Above all, [take] the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble … How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. § I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation.

Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. § But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
