April 3

Morning

Beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is
as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord
is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth . . . so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgements and His ways past finding out!

Evening

You were like a firebrand plucked from the burning.

The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has seized the hypocrites: “Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?” § We had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us. § The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. § Knowing therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

Be ready in season and out of season. § Others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire.
“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts § [He] desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
