January 27

Morning

You know that He was manifested to take away
our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

God … has in these last days spoken to us by His Son … who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. § He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold … but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you. § The love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

Evening

I have set before you life and death, blessing
and cursing; therefore choose life.

For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!” § If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. § That servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. § He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. § Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or
of obedience leading to righteousness?

If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.
