January 16

Morning

It pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell.

The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. § God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. § [He is] far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. § By Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. § And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. § Of His fullness we have all received.

Col. 1:19; John 3:35; Phil. 2:9–11; Eph. 1:21;
Col. 1:16; Rom. 14:9; Col. 2:10; John 1:16

Evening

Write the things which you have seen, and the things which
are, and the things which will take place after this.

Holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. § That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

“Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. § He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe.

We did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. § Your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
