“. . . Read it, study it, love it, live it. In it you will find a verse for every occasion. Hide them in your heart.” – Ruth Bell Graham
So that is the council that my mother gave me so long ago and it is one that has stood for a lifetime. . . And then for Mother to pass that to me, for me to pass it to Rachel-Ruth and Rachel-Ruth to pass it to Riggin and her other two girls — it’s a legacy of faith that will stand. It’s a sure foundation.
Our world is crazy right now and things are changing so fast. And what was right yesterday is wrong today. What was wrong yesterday is right today. It’s craziness. But God’s Word doesn’t change. And you can build your life on it knowing that God’s Word works. It’s true. He’s a gentleman. He doesn’t lie. He doesn’t mock His children. He doesn’t play games. He means what He says and He says what He means.
And He says that He loves you and wants you to know Him in a personal relationship. And that personal relationship is established at the cross. But then you develop it by spending time in His Word, reading it and applying it to your life, living it out in obedience and growing in your faith and your knowledge of Him.
And so on this Mother’s Day . . . God bless you.
