Luke 15:20

Morning

He arose and came to his father. But when he was still
a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion,
and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him.

You received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. § You who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ … Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.

Evening

Behold, I make all things new.

Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. § If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. § Purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump. § The new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord will name.

Behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind. § Since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness?
